- Title:Maximum Users for IBM PC Network (PCN)
-
- The IBM PC Network (PCN) board has a hardware limitation of 32
- users. Eventhough versions of NetWare will allow more than 32
- users, one PCN board will notallow more than 32 users.
-
- More than 32 users can be used in a PCN network in the following
- ways:
-
- 1.If more than one server is used in a network (32 users perserver).
-
- 2.With the release of Advanced NetWare 2.0 and the introduction of
- new bridging capabilities, a server can be a bridge to an additional
- 32 users by installing a second PCN board in it (total 64 users per
- server). In addition each workstation can have a second PCN board
- installed in it, which allows bridging to even more workstations.
-
- Advanced NetWare 2.0 will allow up to 100 users perserver.
-
- Workstations bridging from servers perform more efficiently that
- workstations bridging from workstations.
